Pittsburgh-based Boba POPS® has moved beyond its cocktail-customization roots, introducing Pop & Go™ — a ready-to-drink line that positions the brand's alcohol-filled popping boba as the centerpiece of a finished, shelf-stable cocktail rather than a bartender's garnish. The 8% ABV line launches in four flavors and is now in test markets across Wisconsin, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, with a national rollout planned for 2027.
The Product
Each Pop & Go™ comes in a 12 oz single-serve cup with a collapsible straw and a puncture-seal top, deliberately mirroring the ritual familiar to boba shop regulars: choose a flavor, punch the straw through, sip. The popping pearls stay shelf-stable inside the finished cocktail through the company's patented fill process, delivering what the brand describes as a burst of flavor without carbonation or chewing. Nutritional analysis puts each serving at approximately 275 calories and 29.5 grams of sugar — in line with other high-ABV RTDs on the market. The four launch flavors — Hard Strawberry Lemonade, Hard Blueberry Lemonade, Hard Peach Green Tea, and Hard Lychee Black Tea — carry a suggested retail price of $19.99 per 4-pack.
For on-premise and retail operators, the format is notable: no prep, no blending equipment, no trained staff required to deliver a textured, experiential drink. That positions Pop & Go™ squarely in the growing segment of premium RTD beverages that compete directly with made-to-order specialty drinks at a fraction of the labor cost.
Market Context
Boba POPS® originally launched as a tool for consumers and bartenders to customize cocktails and low-alcohol beverages with flavored spirit-filled pearls, building distribution to more than 6,000 retail doors across 34 states — including ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, Kroger, and Albertsons. Pop & Go™ is the company's first fully finished product, entering what has become the most competitive shelf set in beverage alcohol as RTD cocktails continue to outpace broader spirits category growth.
"Boba POPS® has always been about creating a moment, not just a beverage," said Harmon Rozycki, COO of Boba POPS®. "With Pop & Go™, we're bringing that same interactive experience to the bev-alc space in a way that feels familiar, fun, and uniquely Boba POPS®."
To support a national push, parent company Unifying Spirits is opening a new Pittsburgh manufacturing facility later this year, equipped with specialized cup-filling and sealing lines sized for large-scale distribution. Limited online pop-up drops will offer early access to consumers in shipping-eligible states before broader retail placement begins. Operators interested in the experiential beverage trend — a space restaurant and hospitality professionals have increasingly tracked — may find the format worth watching as it expands beyond initial test markets.
