A new partnership between Bluedrop Water and Boomerang Water gives hotels, resorts, and mixed-use hospitality properties across the United States and Caribbean a fully integrated, on-site hydration program designed to eliminate single-use plastic bottles while strengthening the guest experience.

The closed-loop system pairs Bluedrop's on-site water purification and refill stations with Boomerang's on-property bottling infrastructure and custom-branded reusable glass and aluminum bottles. Guests receive a branded bottle at check-in, refill it at stations positioned throughout the property, and can return the bottle to a Boomerang receptacle to be cleaned, sanitized, and recirculated. The program also captures measurable waste-reduction and carbon-impact data to support ESG reporting and sustainability certifications — a growing priority for flag brands and independent luxury operators alike.

Already in the Field

The partnership has already cleared its first real-world test at Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Utah. Evan Breckenridge, Director of Marketing at the resort, said the program delivered "less reliance on single-use packaging, a better guest experience and a more efficient, cost-effective operation." That combination — sustainability gains paired with operational savings — is precisely the value proposition that resonates with food and beverage directors and general managers weighing the total cost of bottled water programs.

What Operators Gain

For hospitality operators, the practical appeal extends beyond brand storytelling. Refill stations are designed to integrate into luxury and upscale environments without disrupting lobby or restaurant aesthetics. Installation, maintenance, and account support are included across the U.S. and Caribbean, lowering the operational lift for properties that lack in-house water-treatment expertise. The custom branding on bottles also turns a utility item into a guest-facing touchpoint that reinforces property identity throughout the stay.

Brendan Dickinson, President & CEO of Bluedrop Water, framed the demand plainly: "Hospitality leaders are looking for ways to deliver premium guest experiences while reducing environmental impact." Jason Dibble, Founder & Chief Innovation Officer of Boomerang Water, added that the alliance allows properties to create "a seamless hydration experience across their entire property" by extending water access to both guest and staff areas.

The trend toward on-site purification aligns with broader movement in sustainable beverage practices across the hospitality sector, where operators are under increasing pressure from guests, investors, and brand standards to reduce single-use packaging. Properties pursuing green certification — LEED, Green Key, or brand-specific ESG benchmarks — stand to benefit from the documented waste metrics the program generates. For restaurants and F&B outlets within larger hotel properties, removing pre-packaged still water from the cost of goods sold can also meaningfully improve beverage margins, a topic well-documented in restaurant operations and cost-management reporting.

The program is available to qualifying organizations across the United States and Caribbean.
