Better-for-you snack brand BHU Foods has relaunched its full product lineup in 2026, shifting from its keto-focused roots toward a broader platform of organic, plant-based protein and fiber snacks — and expanding its retail footprint to match.
The Bethlehem, Pa.-based company, founded in 2015, now carries its refreshed line at Sprouts and Erewhon on the West Coast and is moving east with placement at Mom's Organic Market. Products are also available on Amazon and direct-to-consumer at bhufoods.com. The move signals a deliberate effort to compete across the rapidly growing functional-snack shelf — a segment attracting intense attention from both specialty retailers and mainstream foodservice buyers tracking better-for-you trends.
The Product Shift
The relaunch centers on a reformulated lineup built entirely around USDA Organic-certified ingredients. Every product in the BHU Foods range is Non-GMO Verified, gluten-free, soy-free, seed oil-free, and made without sugar alcohols. Pea protein replaces dairy and whey across the board, making all refrigerated bars fully vegan. The portfolio spans full-size refrigerated bars, mini snack bars, and Superfood Bites.
Amanda Iampietro, Chief Commercial Officer of BHU Foods, described the relaunch as a strategic evolution rather than a cosmetic rebrand. "We're simplifying better-for-you snacking with organic, plant-based nutrition and ingredients consumers can both enjoy and feel good about," Iampietro said. "At the end of the day, no one wants to eat something that doesn't taste good."
What It Means for Buyers
For retail buyers and foodservice operators scouting the better-for-you snack category, BHU Foods' repositioning reflects a broader market signal: consumers who once gravitated toward keto-specific products are increasingly seeking clean-label, protein-forward options that don't carry restrictive dietary branding. The brand's new tagline, Bite Into Better, is calibrated to a wellness-oriented shopper who wants functional nutrition without feeling locked into a diet identity.
The clean-label credentials — organic, non-GMO, no seed oils, no sugar alcohols — align with criteria that specialty grocery buyers at chains like Erewhon and Sprouts prioritize, and that are increasingly appearing on evaluation checklists at natural-channel distributors. As plant-based protein sourcing continues to evolve across the food and beverage industry, brands that can deliver on taste alongside rigorous clean-label standards are finding stronger shelf placement and repeat-purchase rates.
The east coast push into Mom's Organic Market also suggests BHU Foods is targeting the mid-Atlantic natural grocery corridor — a competitive but high-intent shopper base that skews heavily toward organic certification as a purchase driver.
