The New Collection
Atlas Ocean Voyages has opened bookings for Extraordinary Expeditions, a four-voyage collection ranging from 40 to 128 nights aboard Atlas Adventurer, the line's forthcoming luxury expedition sailing yacht set to debut in November 2028. The flagship of the collection, the 128-night Grand Odyssey Expedition, departs Kobe, Japan on November 30, 2028 and concludes in Cape Town, South Africa — tracing a sweeping arc across Asia and the African continent.
The other three voyages in the collection include the 40-night Apex of the East Indies (Bangkok to Singapore, December 23, 2028), the 42-night East Africa & Asia Expedition (Bali to Mombasa, February 10, 2029), and the 45-night Silk & Sands Passage (Cape Town to Athens, April 7, 2029). Together, the itineraries connect across overlapping ports, allowing guests on shorter voyages to share curated shoreside events with those on the full Grand Odyssey sailing.
What Guests Receive
Each Extraordinary Expedition booking includes a package of bundled amenities: up to $4,500 in air credit per guest, a complimentary pre-expedition hotel night, private arrival and departure transfers, unlimited Wi-Fi, laundry service, and at least one exclusive shoreside experience. Guests on the 128-night Grand Odyssey receive three such curated shoreside events across the voyage. The bundled model reflects a broader hospitality industry trend toward inclusive, high-value packaging for extended luxury travel, reducing friction at the point of sale for travel advisors and their clients.
The Ship and the Strategy
Atlas Adventurer is positioned as the world's first luxury expedition sailing yacht — a hybrid concept blending sail propulsion with purpose-built expedition capability. The vessel features all-suite accommodations, multiple dining venues, wellness programming, and what the line describes as a more sustainable approach to ocean exploration. The full inaugural season runs November 2028 through April 2029, with additional voyages available from 8 to 128 nights.
For hospitality operators and food and beverage professionals watching the ultra-premium travel segment, the Atlas Adventurer launch is a signal of continued demand for immersive, extended-stay experiences with elevated onboard dining and wellness components. Multi-week voyages of this length require sophisticated provisioning logistics, culinary programming across diverse regional menus, and service standards that rival top-tier boutique hotels — a growing area of crossover between the restaurant and hospitality industries and the luxury cruise sector.
"These journeys were created for travelers who believe that time is life's greatest luxury," said James A. Rodriguez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Ocean Voyages, framing the collection around depth of experience rather than destination count.
Atlas Ocean Voyages is a brand of Mystic Invest Holding and currently operates World Navigator, World Traveller, and World Voyager. Reservations for Extraordinary Expeditions are available now through travel advisors or directly at atlasoceanvoyages.com.
